The Community Access National Network (CANN) — in collaboration with HealthHIV, HealthHCV, and the National Coalition for LGBT Health — is hosting the 8th Annual National Monitoring Report on HIV/HCV Co-Infection. CANN will present its annual report on the state of co-infection in the United States, including a summary of the HIV/HCV Co-Infection Watch. HealthHCV will present data and implications from ongoing national trends, as shared by patients and providers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 

  • Identify the latest data, information, and trends on people co-infected with HIV and hepatitis C (HCV);
  • Describe current access to care and treatment within certain public assistance programs, such as ADAP and Medicaid;
  • Initiate dialogue and strategy to attain more funding for ADAP to treat co-infected clients, particularly ADAP "wrap around" capabilities for insured clients;
  • Summarize the state of HCV prevention and care services in HIV and primary care settings and their implications on ending the HCV epidemic; and,
  • Foster greater collaboration among public health professionals working to combat the dual epidemics of HIV and HCV.
